Medical Aid

With the continuous increase of Out of Pocket (OOP) spendings on medical cost, we aim to help patients that are at a disadvantage and highlight this phenomenon as an issue. We would like to start our initiative in the field of Neurosurgery and hope to expand to other specialties.

1. Out-of-Hospital Costs

Project STAN (STrengthening Access to Neurosurgery)

Not everyone has geographical access to specialty care or even healthcare. There are also numerous costs that are not considered "medical" that are part of the patient care journey such as cost of transportation, accommodation, food, and the cost of their beloved family members to  travel support the patients.

We are piloting a financial aid programme to support patients and their family access Stanford Healthcare (SHC) for neurosurgical care, starting with those in need of Microvascular Decompression (MVD) surgeries. We recognise that the subject of pain is often overlooked in comparison to more sinister pathologies; however, those suffering from Trigeminal/Glassopharyngeal Neuralgia and Hemifacial Spasms have extremely poor quality of life and often have many years of seeking help from many different specialties.

Patient selections will be based upon a comprehensive screening and prioritization process after applications are submitted

Online Application Form Coming Soon

Online applications will be available soon. Currently only enrolling patients from their primary neurosurgeon. If you would like to apply for funding please let your attending neurosurgeon know about our initiative with SHC.
